Welcome to Edu Change

Empowering Young People with Disabilities

At Edu Change, we are on a mission to transform the lives of young people with disabilities as they transition from high school to adulthood.

Our organization is dedicated to providing essential life skills education and support to bridge the gap between secondary and tertiary education. We firmly believe that everyone has the right to ongoing education, and we are committed to promoting equity and ensuring that all individuals with disabilities have the opportunity to lead independent and fulfilling lives.

Our Purpose

Empowering Transition

The transition from high school to adult life is a critical juncture in every young person’s journey. For most individuals between the ages of 18 and 25, this period marks the transition to tertiary education or other skill-building programs that pave the way for a successful future. However, young people with disabilities often face significant barriers during this transition.

The Stark Reality

In Australia, a staggering 44% of the population within this age group transition to tertiary education, enjoying access to a wealth of opportunities for personal and professional growth. Sadly, the picture is vastly different for young people with disabilities. Only a mere 9% of them access any form of tertiary education or continuous skills-building programs past the age of 18.

A Disturbing Disparity

This stark contrast between the 90% of young people with disabilities who access primary and secondary education and the meager 9% who continue their educational journey is a glaring inequality that cannot be ignored. Edu Change recognizes this gap and is dedicated to addressing it head-on.
